EACH year, Sefton Council provides restricted services over the Christmas and New Year period. Most council buildings will be closed from:- 4pm from Wednesday, 24 December 2025, re-opening at 9am on Monday 5 January 2026.
As a result, waste collection services will change. Like last year, the teams that are working will be prioritising grey bin and refuse sack collections.

- If your normal collection day is:- Tuesday, 23 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Monday, 22 December 2025.
- If your normal collection day is:- Wednesday, 24 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Tuesday, 23 December 2025.
- If your normal collection day is:- Thursday, 25 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Wednesday, 24 December 2025.
- If your normal collection day is:- Friday, 26 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Saturday, 27 December 2025.
- If your normal collection day is:- Monday, 29 December 2025, this collection will remain the same day.
- If your normal collection day is:- Tuesday, 30 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Monday, 29 December 2025.
- If your normal collection day is:- Wednesday, 31 December 2025, this collection will take place on:- Tuesday, 30 December 2025.
- If your normal collection day is:- Thursday, 1 January 2026, this collection will take place on:- Wednesday, 31 December 2025.
- If your normal collection day is:- Friday, 2 January 2026, this collection will remain the same day.
Normal service resumes week commencing:- Monday, 5 January 2026.
